Write for The Alien

We accept submissions for the following categories (please don’t send us cheese, get acquainted with the style of The Alien before you submit - we really hate rejecting people):

articles (based on faith+life, christianity, culture, music, book, film reviews, etc, etc.)

fiction (short-stories or novel excerpts)

poetry

essays, experimental non-fiction
we’re looking for honesty (we don’t get shocked very easily, by the way) and human struggles common to us all. And most importantly, how Grace held us in its arms during those storms.

emails to the Almighty
*be respectful, this is God you’re talking to

songs that have changed my whole existence or (have at least made me want to move my body a little)
be funny, be creative, tell us your experience with a certain song… discuss the wonders of music!

weird letters to the editor

the visual arts section will gladly accept:

postcards

collages

photos

artwork in general

for the plugin section:

Send a brief description of the band/album/book/church/ministry/artist/what-not you want to plug, explain the reasons why it deserves to be plugged, send any related links and sign the submission with your full alias.

We believe in responding quickly to those who submit (don’t you just hate it when it takes months), so to not waste our time and yours, please pay attention (and smile).

send all submissions to:

editor*at*bohemian-alien*dot*net

Send poetry submissions to editor*at*bohemian-alien*dot*net with a copy to lucytadema*at*bohemian-alien*dot*net

The email must contain the category you are submitting to in the subject. You can send submissions as attachments or in the body of the email. Also, don’t be afraid to tell us a bit about yourself in the submission. Don’t just send a blank email with an attachment, it makes us pout.

Don’t send us something we did not request (again, we hate rejecting folks). And don’t fret either, if you’re good, you’ll get published. We really, really want to publish writers and artists. By submitting you are doing us a favor, not the other way around.

Oh and by the way, we’re really nice people.
